Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

Join our team at Chiricahua National Monument! We are excited to recruit volunteers to serve as campground hosts for the 25-site Bonita Canyon Campground. This facility is located at an elevation of 5,400 feet in an oak/pine forest area situated along Bonita Creek. Camp hosts put out campground tags each morning, use recreation.gov to determine when campers are arriving and leaving, and assist visitors with questions about camping and the park.

Timeframe for this opportunity is the beginning of April through at least September 2025. Volunteers work 32 hours a week, with a schedule of 4 days on and 3 days off. Weekends may be required.

A campsite is provided with full hook-ups (electricity, water, sewer) and Wi-Fi. RVs must be furnished by the volunteer; the park does not provide RVs or other housing accommodations. Trailer or RV length limit is 29 feet . Laundry facilities are also available within the park. Cell phone coverage is limited.

Volunteers need to be physically able to walk up to 1 mile a day. Duties are mostly completed outside. See our weather chart to review average high and low temperatures throughout the year. Weather - Chiricahua National Monument (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov)
