VOLUNTEER TUTOR/MENTORS for Refugee Youth After-school Program!

Volunteer with our After-School Homework/Mentor Program to support elementary school-aged (K-8) refugee children. Volunteers assist with:

  • Assist students with their homework
  • Provide direct practice of the English language
  • Facilitate activities and games
  • Maintain a fun/safe community space

The After-School Homework/Mentor Program runs Monday - Friday, 4:00 - 6:30pm at ICNA Relief’s Learning Lab in West Ridge. Volunteers are expected to commit one day per week for a full term (Sept-Dec or Jan-Jun).

Our mission is to facilitate the growth of people by using a holistic framework in our services. We envision a community that develops a strong bond of humanity and are actively working on achieving it through education, intervention, and other evidence based practices. We aim to strengthen the family system through education and value based family services. We foster effective partnership and coordination with other faith-based organizations, civic and governmental agencies, as well as volunteers.

  • We expect a commitment of 1.5 hours per week during the winter/spring term.
