Thank you for your interest in becoming a Kaiser Permanente Hospice Volunteer. Caring and compassionate community volunteers are an integral part of our team.
No special skills or education are required, only a generosity of heart. Training and ongoing support are provided to all volunteers; prior experience is not needed.
We are currently looking for volunteers who would like to visit Hospice patients in Napa and Solano County and in the city of Winters in Yolo County. As a Hospice Volunteer, you would p rovide companionship and support to patients with life limiting illness and their families in their homes, care homes or nursing facilities. Through life review, sharing music or art, reading, walking, talking and sitting in silence you bond with remarkable individuals, share their humor, courage, and life experiences.
When you become a Hospice volunteer in the community, you are assigned one-on-one with a patient who you visit regularly through the end of the patient's life or certification period (once a week for 2- 4 hours for each visit).
Please see our web site at: https://hospice-ncal.kaiserpermanente.org/kp.org or contact Cherrylyn Fernandes, Hospice Volunteer Coordinator at # 925.510.4255 for more information.
Looking forward to having you become a part of our Hospice family.

Mission Statement
The mission of Kaiser Martinez Hospice is to provide timely, high quality, compassionate medical care for patients facing life-limiting illness and their families involving multidisciplinary team oriented approach focused on emotional and spiritual support tailored to the needs and wishes of the patient and their loved ones.
Description
Hospice is a home-based care program for people in the final phase of terminal illness. It’s focused on comfort and quality of life, rather than cure. Instead, your hospice health care team provides comprehensive comfort care that may make it possible for you to live the rest of your life in your home. "Home" can include a private residence or care facility.
The Hospice philosophy is to provide emotional, social, and spiritual needs , for you and your loved ones; as well as to manage your medical symptoms. We help patients live as comfortably as possible, so they can live each day as fully as possible. We call this "quality of life." Care is focused on honoring patients’ wishes and ensuring their personal dignity.
