Summary:

The Volunteer Onboarding Coordinator is responsible for overseeing volunteer onboarding for Veterans Yoga Project. Duties include reviewing and screening volunteer applicants, connecting volunteers with appropriate leads for interviewing and position assessment based on interest and skill set, executing the hiring process, and creating and maintaining accurate volunteer records. The Volunteer Onboarding Coordinator will be a part of the broader VYP HR/ Volunteer Engagement team and may be asked to support additional HR related programs and/or projects.

Essential Duties:
Review CRM tool daily for new volunteer applicants
Manage volunteer applicant outreach and interview scheduling
Conduct volunteer applicant screen interview
Provide additional knowledge and insight to the VYP Mission and culture
Share additional detail on open volunteer positions and requirements, including the Teacher
Alliance Program
Track volunteer applicant progress in Asana tool
Coordinate connection between volunteer applicants and Regional Managers/ Department
Directors for further role assessment
Manage all related onboarding tasks including:
Job description creation and distribution
Background check process
Welcome notes and onboarding details, including volunteer
time reporting
Project assignment in NEON
Email set-up requests
Volunteer profile completion in Asana

Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:
Previous experience in a Human Resources, administrative, or coordinator role preferred
Interest and energy for volunteerism and engaging with new applicants
Solid organizational skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through in an
independent, responsible, and professional manner
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
Strong written and verbal communication and computer skills
Patience and tenacity when dealing with potential lag times in correspondence and process
execution

Description

Veterans Yoga Project is a national 501(c)3 on a mission to support recovery and resilience among our veterans, military families and communities. VYP envisions a future where all those affected by trauma have access to a full range of mind-body practices and programs, and is committed to providing these tools and training in Safer, Predictable and Controlled environments (SPaCe).

Founded in 2011, Veterans Yoga Project is an IAYT member school, an NBCC Approved Continuing Education Provider and a certified Yoga Alliance School ( RYS-200 YACEP). Working in partnership with veterans, active-duty military personnel, student veterans' organizations , veterans treatment courts and other non-profit organizations, VYP-trained instructors and clinicians provide programs, resources, connections and teach over 100 free yoga classes each week.
