Book Bytes: Tales That Spark is a philanthropic initiative focused on providing free, culturally inclusive reading materials to underprivileged children in South Africa. Our mission is to ignite a love for reading and empower young minds through storytelling.

Job Summary:
We’re seeking an organized and passionate Project Manager to oversee the Educational Content Team. This team is tasked with advising on and developing high-quality educational materials for Book Bytes. As the Project Manager, you will ensure team coordination, monitor deadlines, and facilitate regular meetings to keep projects on track. If you have experience managing creative or educational projects and a passion for literacy, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Educational Content Team and their projects.

  • Coordinate the development of culturally inclusive and age-appropriate educational materials.

  • Conduct regular team meetings to track progress, address challenges, and maintain momentum.

  • Ensure deadlines are met and deliverables align with Book Bytes’ mission and quality standards.

  • Collaborate with content creators, educators, and advisors to ensure cohesive outputs.

  • Create and maintain project timelines to keep the team organized and focused.

  • Provide regular project updates to leadership and stakeholders.

  • Identify potential risks and implement solutions to mitigate delays.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in project management, preferably in education, publishing, or content development.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Trello, Airtable, or similar).

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work with a remote, volunteer-based team.

  • Passion for education, literacy, and making a positive impact.
