Job Summary:
We’re looking for a tech-savvy and detail-oriented Slack Workspace Moderator/Manager to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for organizing and managing our Slack workspace to ensure smooth internal communication and collaboration. This position is perfect for someone familiar with Slack’s features and settings, with a passion for creating efficient and welcoming digital workspaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize Slack channels and ensure they align with team needs and structure.

  • Write and update channel descriptions, pinned messages, and guidelines.

  • Manage permissions and posting settings for channels to maintain order and clarity.

  • Assist in onboarding new team members by ensuring they are added to appropriate channels and have access to necessary resources.

  • Monitor Slack for issues, such as cluttered channels or inappropriate posts, and take corrective actions as needed.

  • Collaborate with team leads to optimize workflows within Slack.

  • Keep track of best practices for Slack usage and recommend improvements for the workspace.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Slack and its features (e.g., managing permissions, setting up channels).

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent written communication skills to craft clear and professional channel descriptions.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with remote teams.

  • A proactive approach to identifying and solving potential issues.

  • Passion for literacy, education, and making a positive impact.
