Mission Statement
To provide compassionate, exceptional end-of-life care to our community.
Description
Hospice of Marion County and its affiliated companies serve over 3500 local residents facing acute illness with expert medical care for symptom management, as well emotional and spiritual care for the patient and family. Volunteers visit patients in the home where most patient choose to remain. As a non-profit Hospice, the focus is on caring for the patient and family, even if they do have not insurance or ability to pay. Our Philanthropy efforts and Hospice Thrift Stores depend on volunteers and help provide for a high quality of care. The Joint Commission as well as Medicare's Hospice Compare recognize the outstanding care which is enabled by volunteer contributions of time, donations, and influence.
Over 20% of our patients are veterans, so volunteer veterans programs are quite important to caring for our patients who served in the military.
Specialty programs such as music, pets, spiritual care, comfort touch, and lifestory enhance the lives of patients who appreciate the special attention. Volunteers also serve in support roles at our Hospice Houses, in offices, deliver interoffice mail, and help with events.
Come and make a difference, make a friend!
