This Martin Luther King Jr. Day, join us in honoring Dr. King’s legacy by engaging in a meaningful community service project with the Shore Educational Collaborative’s Post Secondary Class. These inspiring young adults, ages 17-19, are navigating physical disabilities and language barriers while developing essential life skills. Together, we will take action to combat hunger in our community, demonstrating the transformative power of service and the potential within every individual to make a difference.

The Project:
Hunger remains a significant challenge in our country, and this initiative seeks to ease the burden on families by providing children with access to snacks at little or no cost. Students will:

  • Design and distribute flyers to collect snack donations.
  • Sort and organize the items received.
  • Assemble snack bags with care, ensuring each one contains five snacks for distribution through a local nonprofit.

We are looking for a small group of volunteers (2-5) to support this effort. This is a one-day project, offering you the chance to make a direct impact while working alongside these exceptional students.

How Volunteers Will Help:

  • Planning Guidance: Assist students in organizing items for snack bags, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Sorting and Packing: Help students classify and prepare items, offering physical support when needed.
  • Collaboration: Encourage teamwork as they assemble snack bags, building communication and cooperation skills.
