Hamline Midway Elders is seeking a volunteer group leader/coach for a monthly meeting of Solo Seniors. This group is for older adults who are aging without a partner or close family to assist, to help individuals develop a community of support by working with others to do research, solve problems, and discover resources.
The volunteer leader’s main role is to do the following:
- help keep the group on track
- to help the group focus on the agenda
- self-identified tasks and projects.
The group is founded on The Back-Up Plan, a guidebook for seniors aging alone, and assists the coach with the group agenda. Ideal qualifications: small group leadership and communication skills, experience working with older adults, knowledge of resources. The group meets on the last Monday of each month, from 10:00 - 11:00am.
