The City of Glendora is seeking volunteers for its Day Trips program, operated out of the La Fetra Center. There are approximately 20 Day Trips per year, and each trip requires two volunteer chaperones. Trip chaperones must be 18 years or older, be physically able to do all trip activity levels, and have exceptional customer service and communication skills. Trip chaperones must also be able to handle emergency situations, represent the City in a courteous and professional manner, and follow all established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Prospective volunteers must complete an interview, a volunteer application, and a successful background check before the start of any volunteer work.
Trip activity levels are as follows:
Easy: Little walking, good for all.
Moderate: Some walking necessary. Participants should be in good health and be able to walk some distance without assistance. Destination activity level may be dependent on the individual.
Active: Good physical condition is necessary. Lots of walking included. Destination may not support walkers, canes, wheelchairs, or other mobility equipment.
