Join our Food Pantry Intake Team as an Intake Floater! Tasks vary each shift and could include using an iPad to check in Food Pantry attendees in the parking lot or lobby, having quick conversations and offering next-steps to guests, and calling out names in the lobby so people in the waiting room easily hear when it’s their turn to complete the Intake process.
What would make you a good fit for this opportunity?
You are 18+ years old
You are flexible and happy to help in a variety of ways
You enjoy being active and changing gears during your shift
You have basic computer skills and can use an iPad (training provided)
You are very comfortable interacting with people from many cultures and backgrounds, using translation tools when needed
You can remain calm and friendly in a busy setting
You can volunteer 2-4x/mo on Thursdays, 12:30-3:15pm

Description
Since 1975, People’s Resource Center has been bringing neighbors together to respond to hunger and poverty in DuPage County. With a team of over 1,500 volunteers, we offer nutritious food and other basic necessities like clothes and rent assistance for people facing tough times. And we connect people with resources--education and tutoring, jobs, technology, art, a caring community--to create a future of hope and opportunity for all.
Volunteer at PRC: Help in the food pantry or clothes closet, become a tutor, teach a class, organize a food drive, make a difference to a neighbor in need.
