Are you a creative individual passionate about using social media to make a difference? Fruits of Ali, a nonprofit empowering young Black men through the art of storytelling, is seeking a Digital Storytelling Specialist to help us amplify our mission and engage our community.
Responsibilities:
- Create high-quality, impactful content (images and videos) that aligns with our mission and programs.
- Develop a social media content calendar and schedule posts across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
- Monitor and engage with our online community, responding to comments and messages.
- Collaborate with team members to share updates, success stories, and upcoming events.
Qualifications:
- Experience with social media content creation and scheduling tools (e.g., Canva, Buffer, Hootsuite).
- Proficiency in graphic design or video editing software is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Passionate about storytelling, creativity, and empowering communities.
Time Commitment:
5-7 hours per week, virtual opportunity.

Description
We off an empowerment program, the Virtual Story Lab, a transformative six-month virtual program for young Black men from Essex and Union County. Led by professional storytellers, participants explore, reflect, and use multimedia tools like writing, filmmaking, photography, and broadcasting to overcome trauma, reframe narratives, and shift perspectives through storytelling.
