The Art of Food: From Palette to Palate is more than just an event-it’s a celebration of creativity, community, and giving back. Featuring renowned chefs, local artists, and community leaders, this event brings together food and art enthusiasts to support Independence Gardens and its Partners with Purpose organizations: Abide Women’s Health, Intellichoice, S.O.A.R. and Top Achievers Plano.

As a volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in making this fundraising event a success while experiencing the excitement and energy up close.

Volunteer Roles
- Event Setup and Breakdown: Help transform the venue into a vibrant space and assist with post-event cleanup.
- Guest Assistance:Welcome attendees, provide directions, and ensure a seamless experience.
- Chef and Artist Support: Assist chefs and artists with setup and logistics during the event.
- Auction Assistance: Help facilitate the silent and live auctions, ensuring bidders have all the information they need.
- General Event Support:Be a problem-solver and step in where needed to keep the event running smoothly.

Description

Independence Gardens is a parent-led non-profit organization founded in 2012. Our overall mission is to provide every child an actionable, impactful and engaging nutrition education programs. These meaningful and transformative education experience is accomplished by partnering with schools and the community in developing and implementing an edible gardening and experiential nutrition program that is Action based, Playful, Passionate, Leadership focused, and Engaging. Independence Gardens’ programs foster and develop in children life skills such as self-esteem, leadership, decision-making, nutrition, and love of community.

  • This is a Done in a Day opportunity and there is no prior training or ongoing commitment needed.
  • Driver's License Needed
  • Must be at least 15
  • If this is for high school volunteer hours, please make sure to bring in any forms for our Board Members to sign. Also, dress for volunteers are all black. Organization Volunteers, please wear black slacks and an Organization Shirt.
