ORGANIZATION: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

The primary duty of a Volunteer Campground Host is to perform daily customer service and park operation duties. Volunteers must be willing to work in all weather conditions and have communication and customer service skills. Volunteers may serve the entire recreation season. The volunteer(s) may be required to lift up to 40 lbs., walk for extended periods of time, and pick up trash in the campground. In many cases Campground Hosts are the first contact the public has with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. A Volunteer Campground Host will provide hospitality and customer service to park guests, assist in cleaning/upkeep of park facilities on cleaning contractors’ days off, and promoting safe responsible use of U.S. Army Corps of Engineer amenities. Complete rounds through the park to ensure compliance with park rules and regulations and provide on-site reports to the Park Rangers.


Beaver Creek Campground has 61 campsites on Lake Oahe, ND: position requires a minimum of 20 hrs. per week and is available, Mid May-Mid September 2022.


Duties include visitor assistance, daily list of occupied sites, monitor the campgrounds water system, occasional light cleaning of the comfort station and vault toilets, light maintenance work. The Volunteer Hosts will stay on a full hookup site with a beautiful view of Beaver Bay. The site includes a partially shaded paved site with water, sewer, electric service with 50 amp maximum and access to a phone. This position can be filled by an individual or a couple. No stipend provided. We provide all necessary uniform components, and safety equipment (vest, hard hat, etc).
