ORGANIZATION: U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management

Lud Drexler Park is located on the northeast end of Salmon Falls Creek Reservoir near the Idaho/Nevada border, about 7 miles west of Rogerson, 36 miles south of Twin Falls, Idaho. The reservoir is popular for boating, fishing, and camping. Anglers find trout, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, and walleye throughout the year. During the fall season, the campground is a popular place to stay for hunters due to abundant game found near the reservoir.

Lud Drexler Park offers access by a maintained road, a boat ramp for water access, restrooms, dispersed camping and 20 developed campsites. Campsites feature shade cabanas, fire rings and picnic tables, potable water and a RV dump are available on-site. Cell service is unreliable at campground and wireless service is unavailable.

Volunteer host opportunities typically run mid-May through mid-September, with a minimum one-month commitment (three to four months preferred). Start/end dates are negotiable.

Volunteers will typically work five days a week, including weekends and holidays; 4-5 hours per day/20 hours per week. Hosts are on duty in the morning and evening, during daylight hours. Hosts are not required to stay on site during days off.

Volunteers will be reimbursed expenses not to exceed the daily camp rate (currently $24/day and reimbursements take two - three weeks to process). Volunteers will need a RV, 25 foot or less. Power and water will be provided along with access to dump station.

Daily operations include:

· Representing the BLM in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner to visitors while wearing a BLM uniform.

· Conducting daily campground rounds to answer questions and share information about recreation opportunities while also encouraging compliance with BLM regulations.

· Monitoring campground sites for fee compliance and recording daily occupancy levels.

· Maintaining facilities at campgrounds, including daily restroom maintenance.

· Maintaining informational signs in and around the campground.

Camp hosts may bring personal UTV/ATV, if desired. Previous hosts have found the use of ATVs or UTVs to be helpful in performing their duties. ATVs, UTVs, and motorcycles must meet Idaho State law (must be street legal) to ride on State and federal roads.

We are looking to fill positions for the following dates: June 2025 through September 2025. Couples encouraged to apply.

Start Date - 2025-05-01

End Date - 2025-10-30

Location:

Mission Statement

The Bureau of Land Management's mission is to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.

Description

The BLM manages 245 million acres of public lands and 700 million acres of mineral estate. These public lands and subsurface acres are integral to the lives and livelihoods of communities and families across the country. We promote multiple-use on public lands to maximize opportunities for commercial, recreational, and conservation activities. This promotes healthy and productive public lands that create jobs in local communities while supporting traditional land uses such as responsible energy development, timber harvesting, grazing, and recreation, including hunting and fishing.
