Position Summary:
Georgia Symphony Orchestra seeks, for immediate engagement, a Marketing Manager to join our team. This role is a limited term position to support marketing efforts for the completion of our concert season (January - June 2025). The Marketing Manager will execute the current marketing plan as well as address additional marketing needs as they arise. The ideal volunteer will be local to the metro Atlanta area and available to commute to our office and performance venues in person.

The Georgia Symphony Orchestra (GSO) has been part of the cultural landscape of Marietta and metro-Atlanta for over 74 years. With comprehensive programming for music lovers of all ages and genres, the GSO creates impact far beyond the concert hall through innovative and engaging performances, world-class educational programs, and intentional community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Relations
Send and manage pre-templated media releases
Send pre-templated promo kits for events and programs
Email Communication
Manage pre-templated AudienceView Pre/Post Email campaigns
Send templated Mailchimp score emails twice per month
Use Mailchimp to send promotional emails leading up to concerts
Social Media / Meta Ads
Schedule and monitor pre-designed Meta Ad campaigns
Monitor and update pre-scheduled social media posts, and create new posts when needed
Programs
Create digital programs for concerts
Provide simple design of printed programs
Media
Upload and categorize concert media from hard drives following events
The successful candidate:
Will be highly organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, creative, strategic, professional and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
Will have excellent communication skills, especially in the areas of writing and proofreading
Is experienced with Meta marketing campaigns, Canva and InDesign, or other design tools, email marketing campaigns and software, and Google Workspace

Description
The ensembles that comprise the GSO are:
The Georgia Symphony OrchestraA symphony orchestra performing masterworks and pops concerts throughout the season in multiple locations around the metropolitan Atlanta/north-east Georgia region.
The Georgia Symphony Orchestra ChorusComprised of approximately 90 voices, the GSO Chorus performs orchestra/choral masterworks, pops, and independently produced events.
GSO Jazz!Professional jazz performances varying from combos to big band, typically held at the Earl Smith Strand Theatre on the Marietta square.
The Georgia Youth Symphony OrchestraThe largest youth orchestra ensemble in the south-east, the Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra (GYSO) includes five orchestras, jazz ensemble, percussion ensemble, flute choir, string symposium, and a youth chorus. Its mission is to inspire young people to discover their full potential through creativity and performance, and to develop the discipline and spirit to accomplish their musical goals.
With over 20,000 patrons annually and 700 people who make music in our ensembles, the Georgia Symphony Orchestra offers musical opportunities to the greater North Georgia and Metro-Atlanta region.
