Deck Work Assistant - Work in small groups to safely repair and replace decking pieces. Involves woodworking, painting, and general labor.

Mechanical Assistant - Work with our team to learn and care for our 16-cylinder diesel engines and other mechanical systems onboard the submarine.

Cleaning & Polishing Assistant - Assist our Submarine Curator with keeping the submarine looking its best. Small preservation projects may also be included in certain areas.

No experience required - all training is provided!

REQUIREMENTS

  • This is a Done in a Day opportunity and there is no prior training or ongoing commitment needed.
  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • Work parties for particular projects usually run Friday-Sunday on select weekends in warmer weather. Other projects are available throughout the year for individuals and groups.
  • Must be able to access the submarine safely in order to work onboard. Other opportunities may be available in our Archives/Collections for those unable to physically access the submarine.
