ORGANIZATION: PACIFIC NORTHWEST DANCE FOUNDATION

These volunteers play a vital role in supporting our mission to provide accessible, high-quality dance education to individuals of all ages. Volunteers in this role will work directly with our dance instructors to assist in teaching youth and adult classes across various dance styles. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in dance instruction, foster creativity, and contribute to building a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist the lead instructor in delivering class materials and instructions.

* Provide one-on-one or small group support to students of varying skill levels.

* Help set up and break down the dance space, ensuring a safe and organized environment.

* Encourage and motivate students, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere.

* Assist in class management, ensuring students are engaged and following instructions.

* Help distribute dance materials such as costumes and shoes for performances and events.

* Support the preparation and coordination of performances, including rehearsals and stage setups.

Skills and Qualifications:

* A passion for dance and teaching, with a desire to learn and grow.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students and staff.

* Ability to be adaptable and responsive to the needs of students.

* Reliability and punctuality.

* Previous dance experience is preferred, but not required.

The Pacific Northwest Dance Foundation (PNWDF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making high-quality dance education accessible to all, regardless of financial background. Founded with the vision of empowering individuals through the art of dance, we offer a wide range of programs for both youth and adults in the Tacoma area.

We are always looking for passionate volunteers to join our mission of making dance accessible and transformative. Whether you’re interested in helping with classes, assisting at events, helping with marketing, or supporting our administrative needs, there are many ways to contribute to our work and make a lasting impact on our community.
