OpenDoor Women's Recovery Alliance is dedicated to journeying with women in recovery from substance disorder. Women are referred to OpenDoor from Treatment programs, Special Docket Municipal Court, sober living, and others.
OpenDoor volunteers provide up to one year of free wrap around services filling the gap for women as they transition from treatment or incarceration to a drug free life. Each volunteer is paired with 3-4 other volunteers and have the opportunity to serve some of the most vulnerable women in our community.
Volunteers leverage their relationships and social networks to help secure housing, offer financial literacy education, provide mental and physical health resources, arrange transportation options, facilitate continued education opportunities, and connect individuals with trauma therapy and more. By working as part of a team, no single volunteer bears the full responsibility for providing resources or "having all the answers." It is truly a team effort.
Volunteers meet weekly at a time and location that is most convenient to the women they are journeying with.
Support is provided and quarterly meetings are held for all volunteers to share wisdom, challenges, victories and more.

Description
OpenDoor is a licensed user of the Open Table model; a model of change that has been successful in transforming lives across the country for almost 20 years.
We recruit and train volunteers to become part of a small group (a Table) to befriend a woman who is in recovery from addiction. Tables meet once a week for one hour to offer love, support, friendship, and guidance. Our goal is to remove social determinants of health that keep women and their children in the cycle of addiction and poverty- not only financial poverty, but relationship poverty as well.
The uniqueness of our model is that it is NOT one-on-one mentoring. Each Table works as a team of advocates who bring their own life experiences, connections and friendship to the Table.
