Join Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site staff for Park Day 2025! Volunteers are needed to help with picking up trash, raking leaves, and collecting sticks and branches to support our historic cooking demonstrations and to improve the park's landscape for staff and visitor safety. Hopewell Furnace is a unit of the National Park Service and preserves and interprets early American iron manufacturing in a 19th century community setting.
Event time: 10am - 1pm. Please arrive around 9:30am to sign your volunteer form, attend a safety debrief, and preview the day's activities.
Please bring a pair of gloves, sunscreen, and a hat. Wear comfortable closed-toed shoes, long sleeved shirts and pants, bug spray, and plenty of water. On the day of the event, volunteers will meet at the Hopewell Furnace Visitor Center for debrief.
**National Park staff will communicate with all volunteer applicants in early April, so please be on the lookout for an email closer to the event for more details!
