Volunteers look up book titles on library websites to obtain Dewey Decimal numbers. These numbers are typed into files to create labels that volunteers place on books. The books are then added to Gammelgården's non-lending resource library that the public is encouraged to use and read while at the museum. There are books for people of all ages and reading levels; and there are books in English and Swedish.

20880 Olinda Trail North, Scandia, MN 55073, US
Mission Statement
Established in 1972 by Elim Lutheran Church to honor the Swedish immigrants who founded the community, Gammelgården Museum of Scandia today celebrates the story of all immigrants to their new land.
Description
Housed in six buildings on the historic gammelgården or old farm where the community of Scandia was first established, Gammelgården encourages visitors to explore their own journey. Through historical, educational, and cultural activities, Gammelgården invites visitors to step back in time and experience the stories of the immigrants as well as to discover new, contemporary bridges.
