GLAMOR SHOTS! Having a good photographer is vital for our website and social media reach. Many potential adopters look at our website prior to coming out to the Center and a picture is often the first chance at marketing our animals for adoption. A great photograph can capture the animal’s personality - making them more desirable. A bad photograph can make the animals look sick, angry, or just plain not-so-charming. The Paparazzi Team takes pictures of our animals (ideally outside for dogs and livestock - if possible - and inside for cats and critters) so people are enticed to come out and adopt. In addition, people who have lost their pet often check online for their missing animal and a quality picture could be all the difference!

Mission Statement
Wake County Animal Center is determined to make a difference for the animals and citizens of Wake County through adoption, education, enforcement and community partnership.
Description
The Wake County Animal Center strives to create a humane community for the pets and people that live here. Together, with community partners, we treat and re-home thousands of homeless animals every year.
The Volunteer Program is an integral part of the Wake County Animal Center and it enables us to make a difference in the lives of tens of thousands of lost or homeless animals each year. We could not exist without the commitment and expertise of each of our volunteers and we're always looking for responsible and enthusiastic animal-lovers to join our group of dedicated and compassionate volunteers.
We offer a variety of roles and assignments, so no matter your preference - working with animals, working with people, or working by yourself - you have a way to impact the animals in our care.
Work with animals - walking, cuddling, cleaning, training, enrichment, grooming, taking pictures, writing biographies and more!
Work with people - guiding visitors, showcasing adoptable animals, marketing, fundraising, attending off-site events and more!
Work independently - data entry, housekeeping, laundry and more!
You can volunteer in many different activities or become an expert in one particular role. All it takes is some free time, a little bit of training and a natural desire for helping others!
