NHQ: International Services English Language Coach - Latin America and Caribbean

ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - National Headquarters

Purpose:

This position directly supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) International Services department (ISD) Latin America and Caribbean Division team. This position will support the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Division team strengthen their English language communication skills. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Virtually meet with LAC team members to help improve English language proficiency.
  • Engage in English language conversation with LAC team members to further English proficiency.
  • Review LAC communications, presentations and reports for English language proficiency and professionalism
  • Listen to LAC team member English language presentations, making suggestions and improvements

Time Commitment: 1-3 hours per week, with at least 1 hour per week between the hours of 9-5 CST

Qualifications
Required:

  • Fluency in English and Spanish (speaking, reading, writing)
  • Teaching, training and/or coaching experience
  • Professional, clear, and diplomatic communication skills
  • Passion for the Red Cross mission and willingness to learn
  • Strong writing and copy-editing skills
  • Experience drafting communications, presentations and/or proposals/reports
  • Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer remotely
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion, with a proven ability to integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion principles into responsibilities
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Submission of resume
  • Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies

Preferred:

ESL teaching or similar experience

Length of Appointment: 6-month commitment with opportunity for renewal.
