The mission of the Volunteer program is to inspire and engage volunteers to conserve our nation’s natural and cultural resources and ensure the sustainability of the public lands legacy.
We are seeking volunteers (singles or couples) to join the Recreation program on the Kaibab National Forest at the Kaibab Plateau Visitor Center. Volunteers will assist North Kaibab Ranger District Forest Service (FS) personnel with: staffing the visitor center alone; providing public area information, regulations and education to Forest visitors; retail operations within the small visitor center store; sanitation, general clean-up and maintenance of the visitor center. Volunteers will maintain a good host concept; provide high-quality public service; and present themselves as clean, professional, available to help and with a pleasant attitude with visitors. Volunteers shall wear a provided nametag and Forest Service Volunteer logo uniform item to identify themselves as hosts while on duty (vest, patch and/or hat). Training and equipment necessary to complete these tasks will be provided by the Forest Service. A commitment of 3 or 6 months of volunteer service is preferred. Volunteers will each be provided $25 for each day of service.
Join the North Kaibab Ranger District Recreation Team to volunteer and live on beautiful Kaibab National Forest! A full hook-up RV site, or a furnished bunkhouse room, will be provided as volunteer housing, located in Jacob Lake within a short walk to the visitor center. Shared access to laundry will be available.
Enjoy the Kaibab Plateau, two wilderness areas, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, the Arizona Strip, and various parks in Southern Utah and Northern Arizona.
This opportunity will be open until filled. For priority considerations, please apply as soon as possible.
