Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

Celebrate MLK Jr. Day of Service by Giving Back to Joshua Tree National Park!

Join us on this special day of service to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and contribute to the preservation of Joshua Tree’s breathtaking desert landscape. Volunteers will work with park staff to remove litter and debris from popular visitor areas, ensuring these unique spaces remain pristine and welcoming for everyone to enjoy.

The project will begin at 9am and end at approximately 12pm on Monday, 1/20 . Volunteers must provide their own transportation to and from work sites. Training and supervision will be provided by park staff. This project involves moderate physical activity, including hiking, lifting, and bending. Volunteers must be able to safely lift 5 pounds repeatedly and hike up to 3 miles on uneven terrain.

Participation is limited--pre-registration is required. Volunteers will receive a confirmation email with project location details after registering. Local recruitment only--volunteers must live within 1 hour of the park.

Let's celebrate the spirit of service and community!
