ORGANIZATION: The Worldview Project

Are you passionate about community events and building connections? The Worldview Project, a San Diego-based all-volunteer nonprofit dedicated to fostering cross-cultural awareness and understanding, is looking for an Event Promotion Coordinator to help launch an exciting new initiative!

We maintain a popular community calendar and weekly newsletter, and we’re launching a ticket giveaway program to engage our audience and promote cultural events. This initiative will help us provide value to our readers, strengthen relationships with local cultural organizations, and highlight the rich diversity of events in our community.

In This Role You Will:

  • Reach out to event producers to negotiate free tickets in exchange for event promotion.
  • Coordinate weekly ticket giveaways, starting with one giveaway (two tickets) per week.
  • Manage "customer service" for entrants, ensuring smooth communication and delivery of tickets.
  • Work with our team to create a systematic, user-friendly process for managing submissions.

We’re Seeking a Volunteer Who:

  • Enjoys building relationships and is comfortable reaching out to event producers.
  • Is organized and detail-oriented, with strong communication skills.
  • Has basic familiarity with email management and online forms (experience with Joomla or custom PHP-based websites is a plus, but not required).
  • Can commit to approximately 5 hours per week to develop and manage the program.

Why Volunteer With Us?

  • Make an Impact: Help connect our community with amazing cultural experiences.
  • Grow Your Skills: Develop experience in outreach, event promotion, and project management.
  • Be Part of a Mission-Driven Team: Join a passionate group of volunteers working to celebrate and promote cross-cultural understanding.

This is a flexible, remote-friendly role, but familiarity with the San Diego cultural scene is a bonus.

Ready to Join Us?

If you’re excited to bring this new initiative to life, we’d love to hear from you! When you write to us, please detail your background, education, interests, and experiences. We look forward to receiving your application and thank you for your interest with our organization!

Let’s work together to celebrate and share the diverse cultural events that make our community shine!

Lastly, while this volunteer opportunity might not align perfectly with your current volunteer goals, we encourage you to connect with us. If this role doesn't match your criteria, please respond to this listing and in the space for comments, please detail your background, education, experience, and interests.
