Volunteer Attorney Needed for Disabled Tenants' Rights and Association-Tenant Issues
Are you a passionate attorney with a heart for advocacy? We urgently seek legal assistance for a Dad and wonderful daughter facing challenges in their condo involved in a association-tenant dispute. Your expertise can make a significant difference in ensuring fair treatment, accessibility, and justice for these residents.
Position: Volunteer Attorney for Disabled Tenants
Location: DelRay Beach,Fl,33446
Responsibilities:
- Provide immediate legal advice and representation to disabled tenants.
- Ensure compliance with the Fair Housing Act and ADA.
- Advocate for necessary accommodations and modifications.
- Address issues of discrimination, neglect, and harassment.
- Collaborate with local housing authorities and organizations.
- File necessary legal documents to prevent unjust eviction and ensure the tenants' rights are upheld.
- Advocate for a peaceful living environment until tenants can safely relocate.
Case Overview: Our tenants include a father (72 years old, insulin diabetic, with a chronic heart condition) and his daughter (legally blind and with Asperger's Syndrome), both of whom are legally disabled. Despite never causing any disruption, they are facing harassment from the Association of the complex , who has threatened to evict them without any future notice, making living conditions unbearable. The owner has expressed a desire to help them, but the tenants need a few months to gather enough money to move. Please Help!
Requirements:
- Licensed to practice law in Florida.
- Experience in housing law, landlord-tenant law, and disability rights.
- Strong advocacy, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Empathy and dedication to advocating for vulnerable populations.
