Join the Boundless Freedom Project team and support participants at California State Prison-Sacramento (CSP-Sac)! We are looking for passionate volunteers to help facilitate mindfulness programs aimed at empowering inside community members.

Volunteers will assist with facilitating groups, leading mindful conversations, movement practices, and community-building resources inside prison institutions. This is an opportunity to create meaningful connections and contribute to the transformative work being done inside these tense institutions.

Commitment:

Positions range from a three-month to one-year commitment depending on your availability. We are also offering virtual opportunities for those who wish to support remotely.

Prior experience inside institutions is welcome but not required!

Description

Boundless Freedom Project believes that all people, including those locked in cages, are part of the broader human sangha.

We serve more than 500 incarcerated people in 15 prisons across the state of California and New York State by offering Buddhist teachings, meditative movement, ethics, and mindfulness practices.

Our programs offer comprehensive support and resources aimed at empowering individuals impacted by incarceration. Through mindfulness, creative expression, and community-building initiatives; we foster healing, resilience, and a sense of belonging among participants living in carceral facilities and outside communities.
