Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Special Olympics North Carolina

Happy runners

Do you have a passion for track & field sports? Would you like to help local athletes with intellectual disabilities develop new skills and build their athletic confidence? Special Olympics NC is looking for two Track & Field coaches to spend an hour per week training Gaston County athletes preparing them to participate in the the Special Olympics Summer Games in May. This is an amazing opportunity to support athletes, young and older, as they develop their running and field event skills.

Where? Location TBD in Gaston County but likely a Middle or High School

When? One night per week from early March to the end of May, 2025. Day of the week will be determined by the availability of the coaches.

As a Special Olympics coach, you bring enthusiasm, commitment and a positive attitude to each practice, event and competition. You will enrich the lives of our athletes in many life-changing ways. The skills and confidence an athlete learns through sports have a long and lasting effect. They can help an athlete succeed in school or even find a job.

We provide the training you need to be a successful coach. Coaches must be at least 18 years old to be a certified coach.
