If you have an hour or more per week to give, Gentiva Hospice welcomes your gifts of time and compassion. You can make a profound difference in someone's life, including your own. Volunteers are an integral part of the hospice team.

Reiki volunteers comfort hospice patients at the end-of-life with relaxing and pain reducing therapeutic touch.

A dying patients's sense of isolation from the world around him or her is often made worse by the lack of comforting human touch. Reiki volunteers provide compassionate touch, relaxation, sense of well-being, emotional health and a state of balance.

Our Reiki volunteers must have current certification as a Level 1, Level II or Level III (Master) with at least 1 year of active, certified experience and completion of the Reiki Volunteer Competency.

Volunteers provide emotional support and practical assistance the enhances the comfort and quality of life for patients, their families, and loved ones.

Hospice volunteers often say their experience is personally rewarding and emotionally meaningful to help those in need at a critical point in their lives. Your volunteer work is significant and can make a positive impact on the quality of others' lives.

We support a wide area, and visits would be set up convenient to you.
