Description
At DLAC, our teaching staff supports artists based on their individual goals and needs. Instructors with backgrounds in fine arts or art education help emerging artists master techniques and develop their artistic identities. Our trained art therapists focus on the therapeutic benefits of art-making, working with individuals such as military veterans with PTSD, caregivers, and elders with Alzheimer’s disease. All DLAC instructors are skilled in inclusive, adaptive practices, specializing in serving students with disabilities.
With a focus on accessibility, inclusion, and adaptive methodologies, DLAC fosters a supportive community where students benefit from process-based art-making. These benefits include increased independence, enhanced creative and social-emotional skills, and new avenues for self-expression. DLAC also advocates for individuals with disabilities by showcasing their talents through exhibitions and providing vocational opportunities. Through art, we promote dignity, creativity, and community in our studios and beyond.
