Seeking Pet Therapy Teams to Make a Pawsistive in the Lives of Hospice Patients

If you have an hour or more per week to give, Gentiva Hospice welcomes your gifts of time and compassion. You and your pup can make a profound difference in someone's life, including your own. Volunteers are an integral part of the hospice team and provide emotional support that enhances the comfort and quality of life for patients, and their families and loved ones.

Are you a certified pet therapy team with a desire to bring joy to others? Our hospice program is seeking pet therapy partners to provide emotional support and bring a smile to our patients and families. Visits will be with individual patients in private homes, assisted living facilities, and/or nursing homes. You will collaborate with hospice staff to ensure the patient's needs are met.

The therapy animal must be well behaved, registered with a recognized organization and up to date on all required vaccinations. The volunteer must have current liability insurance coverage.

Hospice volunteers often say their experience is personally rewarding and emotionally meaningful to help those in need at a critical point in their lives. Your volunteer work is significant and can make a positive impact on the quality of others' lives.
