Are you passionate about making a difference in the life of teenagers who have survived violent crime? Join our team.The Dolce Foundation is currently seeking individuals to serve as Board Members for our non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
About The Dolce Foundation:
The Dolce Foundation is committed to supporting teenagers of violent crime to regain their power back through our empowerment programs, peer-to-peer mentorship program, in home health care journey to bridge the gaps, financial assistance, security and alarm, as well as survivor gift baskets. All with as much love and compassion that we can provide.
Our foundation was rooted from my 14-year old daughter who was a survivor of kidnapping, S/A, and attempted murder.
We are looking for visionary and motivated individuals to help guide the future of our organization as part of our Board of Directors.
Board Member Roles and Responsibilities:
Board members are responsible for overseeing the organization’s activities, ensuring financial and legal compliance, and supporting fundraising and outreach efforts. As a member of the Board of Directors, you will help shape the strategy and growth of the Dolce Foundation and be a key part of our mission to [briefly restate your mission].
Available Board Positions:
We are looking to fill the following positions:
- Chairperson/President
- Lead the board and ensure it fulfills its governance responsibilities.
- Provide strategic guidance and support to the Executive Director.
- Foster a positive and productive relationship between the board and staff.
- Vice Chair/Vice President
- Support the Chairperson and act in their absence.
- Assist with overseeing specific committees or initiatives.
- Provide leadership in key areas of organizational growth.
- Secretary
- Record and maintain minutes of board meetings.
- Ensure that the organization complies with relevant laws and regulations regarding record-keeping.
- Oversee the organization’s documentation and correspondence.
- Treasurer
- Oversee the financial health of the organization.
- Monitor budgets, financial reports, and ensure transparency in financial practices.
- Work with the Executive Director to ensure proper financial planning and accountability.
- Board Member (General)
- Attend regular board meetings and provide input on strategic decisions.
- Support fundraising efforts, outreach, and advocacy for the foundation.
- Bring unique expertise and community connections to the board.
Desired Qualifications:
We are seeking board members who bring diverse perspectives, professional experience, and a passion for our mission. Ideal candidates will have experience or interest in the following areas:
- Non-profit governance and management
- Fundraising and development
- Financial management
- Legal expertise
- Strategic planning and organizational growth
- Community engagement and outreach
- Marketing, communications, or public relations
Expectations:
- Commitment: Board members will be expected to attend quarterly meetings (in person or virtually), participate in committee work, and contribute to the overall success of the Foundation.
- Fundraising: Board members should actively participate in fundraising initiatives and help raise awareness for the Foundation.
- Term Length: Board members typically serve a [specify term length, e.g., 2 or 3-year] term, with the possibility of renewal.

We offer empowerment classes to teenagers through self defense training, peer-to-peer mentorship programs, in home health care to bridge the gap. We bring a family together to heal together. We build the relationship between parents/children to help understand what a teenager is experiencing and to heal as a family unit as well as the teens healing to create a longer term healing. As many teenagers turn to other substances as they get older due to not being understood, survivor baskets filled with useful items and their favorite goodies, journals etc.
