We are looking for a candidate to join us as a dedicated co-director of our organization. The goal is to grow you into a capable director to take over the organization as we also grow our income for this role.

The organization is small but mighty, with many projects and public activities. We thrive on partnerships, and in filling the gaps otherwise left unaddressed in the watershed education and Green Stormwater infrastructure realms in the creeks of the SF East Bay.

The candidate must be located in the Bay Area and know the East Bay.

POSITION OVERVIEW The new co-director will work alongside the current director. The Co-director represents the organization to funders, donors, volunteers, government agencies, other community organizations, and to the general public in ways that invite collaboration and support.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Financial Management

* Fundraising and Grant Administration

* Staff Supervision

* Program and Office Management

QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor’s degree in related environmental or nonprofit management field or equivalent experience

* Experience with nonprofit fundraising strategies, donor relations, and grant writing

* Leadership skills that foster collaboration and inspire participation

* Organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development, and task facilitation

* Financial management skills, including budget preparation, data analysis, decision-making, and reporting

* Strong written and oral communication skills and public speaking

* Connection to and/or knowledge of the SF East Bay

As our work is BIPOC focused, we encourage people of color and those from underrepresented communities to apply. This role can be primarily virtual or in our Alameda office, but the candidate must live in the SF Bay Area.
