ORGANIZATION: Enhabit Home Health and Hospice

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Enhabit Hospice relies on volunteers in many unique and important ways. Each of our volunteers bring something special to Hospice to help fulfill our mission of providing quality care to our hospice patients and their families. Each one of our volunteers are the heart of Enhabit Hospice.

There are so many ways our volunteers support the work of Enhabit Hospice.

They may sit with a dying patient, do family shopping, cook or clean, , read to the patients, or even have conversations with the patients about the good old days. We have patients who enjoy playing a weekly card game or a game of scrabble. Patient support volunteers hold hands, or listen to the same story over and over again. They laugh with the patients.

Enhabit volunteers do whatever they can, when ever they can, and if they can.

About Enhabit Home Health and Hospice

Location:

1635 N Greenfield Rd, Suite 126, Mesa, AZ 85205, US

Mission Statement

At Enhabit, we provide support to people facing life-threatening illness and shortened life expectancy so that they may live as fully and comfortably as possible. We, at Enhabit, believe death is a natural part of, and necessary to the closure of, life, as we know it. It is our philosophy that dying persons have the potential to learn, teach, console, enjoy, plan, and laugh during this period of life.

Description

One of the fundamental principles of our hospice philosophy is to honor patient choices and "meet them where they are". Each person is different and should be honored and respected for who they are, not for what we want them to be or think they should be.

Our volunteers make a difference in the lives of others by providing comfort and support to patients facing a life -limiting illness.
Volunteers ensure the patient and family needs are met through compassion, companionship, assisting in everyday tasks, and providing respite time to a patient's caregiver.
