Meals from the Heart volunteers provide an essential service to the Ronald McDonald House of Danville. After a long day of caring for their child in the hospital, the families staying at RMHD may not have the time, energy, or funds to prepare a healthy, home-cooked meal for dinner (or breakfast/lunch!). That's where our Meals from the Heart volunteers come in! You will plan, purchase, and prepare a warm meal for our guests in our large, fully stocked kitchen. On average, you should expect to prepare for 30 guests, but please check with us the week before your scheduled date for a final estimate. You will not be expected to serve the meal -- families will serve themselves at their convenience.
This opportunity is a great fit for groups and families of 8 or less people. Volunteer once, or sign up for multiple dates, there is no time commitment! Description
Ronald McDonald House Charities, a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) corporation, creates, finds and supports programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children. Its grassroots-driven programs offer help where children need it most - right in their own communities. RMHC makes an immediate, positive impact on children's lives through its global network of local Chapters in 52 countries and regions and its three core programs: the Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Family Room and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile. These programs provide a bridge to accessible health care and allow families more time together, which helps in the healing process. RMHC and its global network of local Chapters also have hundreds of millions of dollars in grants and program services to children's programs around the world.
