Attract, vet, and onboard/train dedicated volunteer mentors who guide and advise mentees in the Mentors4College program. This role ensures that the organization maintains a robust pool of highly qualified and passionate mentors who are well-equipped to support students and their families through the college selection and application process.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute targeted recruitment strategies to attract volunteer mentors nationwide.
Identify and engage potential mentor candidates through community outreach, partnerships, social media, and professional networks.
Screen and vet applicants, ensuring all mentors meet the organization’s qualifications and complete necessary background checks.
Coordinate and oversee the onboarding/training process, including initial orientation, required training sessions and evaluation/updating of materials.
Collaborate with the Board of Directors to ensure new mentors are prepared to effectively guide mentees.
Maintain a database of mentors, tracking their availability, skills, and engagement levels.
Work closely with mentee coordinator to match students based on compatibility and program needs.
Regularly evaluate mentor recruitment efforts, providing recommendations to improve processes and expand reach.

Description
Founded in 2011, Mentors 4 College has worked with over 1,200 high school students from our existing chapters, plus individual students from other St Louis area schools, as well as individual students from around the country.
Our mentors come from a wide variety of educational and work backgrounds, as well as from many different cultures, so we're able to pair our mentees with mentors who can understand their abilities, needs and goals.We currently have 75 volunteer mentors who are professionally trained and give freely of their time to help high school students find and get accepted to their ideal schools. 94% of students completing our program enter and stay with their chosen school.
