Are you a Veteran with a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of fellow Veterans? Our hospice is seeking compassionate Veterans to provide emotional support and companionship to patients who have served in the military.
No medical background needed! As a volunteer, your role will be non-medical, focusing on offering social and emotional support to patients and their families.
How you can help:
- Connect with Veteran patients through shared military experiences and stories.
- Provide companionship by visiting patients in their homes, assisted living facilities, or nursing homes.
- Participate in Veteran recognition ceremonies to honor patients for their service.
- Offer a comforting presence to patients and their families during a challenging time.
- Help facilitate programs like pinning ceremonies or memory sharing to celebrate patients’ military service.
Volunteers may also engage in light support activities, such as offering caregiver relief or simply being a friendly presence.
