Do you have a passion for music and a desire to bring comfort and joy to others? Our hospice is seeking talented musicians to volunteer and offer the gift of music to patients living with terminal illnesses. As a volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to create a flexible schedule that works for you.
No medical background needed! Our volunteers do not provide any medical or personal care-your role will be strictly to offer emotional and social support.
How you can help:
- Perform live music or play recorded music to soothe and uplift patients
- Provide companionship through music, whether it’s a gentle guitar session, piano melodies, or singing
- Offer a calming presence to patients, their caregivers, and families
- Engage patients in music-related activities like singing along, reminiscing to familiar songs, or listening to calming tunes together
- Support families and caregivers by offering a peaceful, therapeutic atmosphere through music
Volunteers may also assist with light household duties such as watering plants, walking pets, or simply providing caregiver relief through their presence. However, the primary focus of this role is the comfort of music.
If you’re a compassionate musician looking to make a meaningful impact, we would love to hear from you!
