Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts is proud to advertise openings for volunteer ushers for the 2025 Filene Center season. From late-May to late-September, Wolf Trap welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors to approximately 80 performances. The performances vary from rock to jazz to pop to country to classical, ballet and opera. The park is proudly supported by a large volunteer community, with several volunteers having served with us for 40 seasons!

Couples and friends are encouraged to volunteer together. Make this the summer you volunteer at Wolf Trap, the only National Park dedicated to the performing arts!


Duties Include:

· Welcoming visitors

· Distributing programs

· Directing people to their seats

· Enforcing the theater's House Rules

· Scanning tickets

· Answering visitor questions


Qualification Requirements:

· Must be at least 16 years of age or older.

· Must be able to climb stairs and stand for an extended period.

· Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions including heat, humidity, and rain.

· Must commit to a 4 hour shift/1 night a week (preferably Saturdays) for the duration of the season.*

· Must attend a 4 hour training session before the start of the season (choose one: Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from 6:00-10:30pm OR Sunday May 4, 2025 from 2:00-6:00pm.

*First year usher staff select one day of the week (either Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) to work a 3 or 4-hour shift through the entire season. The season is 15-17 weeks. There is a substitution policy in place if needed, and ushers are given four excused absences for vacations, family events, etc.
