Mission Statement
Rooted in Catholic Social Teaching and the Gospel imperative, Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services are outreaches of the Catholic Church in Western Washington, under the leadership of the Archbishop of Seattle and the Boards of Trustees. CCS and CHS answer the Gospel call to loving and compassionate service with particular concern for the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death and the dignity of the human person. Our employees and volunteers come from many faith traditions to serve and support poor and vulnerable people through the provision of quality, integrated services and housing. Our focus is on those individuals, children, families, and communities struggling with poverty and the effects of intolerance and racism. We actively join with others to work for justice.
Description
Helping another person brings a wonderful feeling of joy and satisfaction. At Catholic Community Services, volunteers play a vital role in helping the elderly and individuals with disabilities live independently in their own homes. They also serve meals to the hungry, provide support to our unhoused neighbors, tutor youth who are struggling in school, and contribute in countless other meaningful ways!
Our CCS/CHS volunteers represent a diverse range of backgrounds, from students of all ages to working professionals, retirees, and groups of friends or coworkers. No matter your religion, belief system, or background, you are welcome here. We embrace volunteers from all walks of life who share a desire to make a positive difference. As Al Jackson from Volunteer Services shares, "Being a volunteer is truly one of the greatest gifts of my life."
We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities tailored to fit your schedule. Call us today and join our inclusive community of compassionate volunteers!
