The Board of Directors of Community Mediation Upper Shore (CMUS) is team of dedicated volunteers who meet quarterly over the course of a three-year term, to ensure the success of CMUS alongside the Executive Dorector (staff).
Board members engage in various activities between board meetings, including: outreach, fundraisers, volunteer recruitment. Day to day operations are led by CMUS staff.
It is important to us that we have board members who represent the entirity the community we serve. We provide mediation services for families, youth, businesses, neighbors, and other community members of Queen Anne's and Kent Counties in MD. Our administative office is located in Chestertown, we provide mediation services at various community spaces throughout Kent and Queen Anne's counties, and usually hold board meetings in Centreville, MD.

Mission Statement
Community Mediation Upper Shore's mission is to build and provide community-based conflict resolution and peacebuilding services at no cost. CMUS is committed to working together for sustainable peace and resilience in our community, where all will have the strategies, skills, and support to resolve conflict.
Description
Mediation with CMUS is free of charge. We work with community organizations, schools, neighborhoods, individuals, courts, and others to make sure mediation is available for everyone at all stages.
Students use mediation. Families use mediation. Businesses use mediation. Neighbors use mediation. Mediation is for everyone, anytime there is a plan to be made. Mediation is a collaborative decision-making process and an inclusive communication process. We will train community members to be mediators if they'll volunteer with us to keep the service free of charge for the community.
