Are you looking to serve older adults in your community? Would you like to do so over drinks?
Once a month, our fantastic volunteer, Kim, and a group of members gather to socialize and try a new restaurant in North Beach or a neighboring area. We are seeking a volunteer to back up our regular person when she is unavailable, 3-4 times per year, to order snacks for the group and pay with a gift card. Around 10 people typically attend this event.
The schedule:
When: The second Wednesday of every month at 5 p.m. Upcoming Dates: February 12th, March 12th, April 9th.
Where: New location every month.
The hard truth is that people's communities dwindle as they age. This monthly happy hour creates a relaxed environment for people to meet each other and build connections. Loneliness has just been proven to be as deadly as smoking a pack a day, so we're doing everything we can to help people keep their community strong.
