Our community liaison team helps us get the word out about the Albany County Historical Association/Ten Broeck Mansion and promote its programming at outreach events around the Capital District. In the past, our volunteers have helped at the Palace Theater free movie events, APD pop-up barbecues, and more!
This position would be great for volunteers who are outgoing, very comfortable with public speaking, and enjoy interacting with the public. This position may require volunteering in outdoor venues (please dress accordingly) and setting up tents and tables.
Community Liaison Members help set up our table displays and tents/tables as needed, provide information about Ten Broeck Mansion programs, and encourage visitors to sign up as members or for our enewsletter. This helps get our name out to new visitors!

Description
Albany County Historical Association was founded in 1942 as a private, not-for-profit educational museum. The ACHA operates the historic Ten Broeck Mansion in the Arbor Hill neighborhood of the city of Albany, New York as a community-centered museum. We serve our community with 100% free family education programs, four acres of historic gardens, and tours and education programs based in the 1798 Ten Broeck Mansion. We have opportunities for volunteering ranging from gardening to welcoming visitors and more! Please contact us to learn more.

- Our outreach events can be any time of the year, but we have a lot of outreach events in the summer months between June and August, so we would need extra help during that time.
- Community Liaison Team volunteers would require some familiarity with the ACHA/Ten Broeck Mansion and their programs. All ACHA volunteers agree to participate in training and follow the ACHA Code of Ethics/Volunteer Agreement.
