Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: New York Edge

In a heartfelt effort to support students and families in need, our students and volunteers will come together to sew care kits. These care kits, filled with essential items, will be a tangible expression of our community's compassion. Corporate volunteers will donate supplies such as fabric, sewing machines, and the items to be included in the kits.

The day will begin with training sessions where volunteers, regardless of their prior sewing experience, will learn the basics of sewing care sacks. These sessions will foster a sense of camaraderie as participants help each other master the skills needed.

Sewing stations will be set up with machines and hand-sewing areas, creating a buzzing environment of productivity and teamwork. As the care kits are completed, they will be filled with toiletries, school supplies, and non-perishable food items. Each kit represents a lifeline to a family in need, providing them with essential resources and a message of hope and support from their community.
