Supplies
Two storage pod s will be placed at your water station one or two days before the race. Inside the pod you should find the following:
a. 400 to 500 one - gallon jugs of water b. 1 0 ,000 cups c. Trash bags d. Sanitary gloves e. C ardboard f. Trash boxes
Tables - 8 tables will be delivered to each station on race morning. If you want to bring some extra tables, feel free to do so.
What You Need
1. Lots of volunteers - The earlier in the course the more volunteers you will need. I would recommend a minimum of 30 .
2 . Shovels and brooms to scoop up the cups is the best way to clean up. If you have a leaf blower that would probably be the easiest way to get the cups into piles in the middle of the road .
3. We will have street sweepers following the last participants. Make sure all the cups are in the road so that can scoop them up. Make sure cups do not go down any drains.
Water Station Instructions
1. Arrive early to give yourself time to have your water station ready to go when the first runner arrives. 2. Put tables on grass just off the road if possible. If you put tables on both sides of the road, make sure there is enough room for the runners, otherwise put them on one side and spread them out. Leave eight to ten feet between each table. Do not put tables directly across from each other if you are putting the tables on both sides of the road. This could cause a log-jam . 3. Fill up as many cups as possible. Cups should be filled to 1/2 full. Try not to lose water by overfilling cups, plus if the cups are full , the runner will waste water trying to pick the cup. 4. Bring extra cardboard so that you can create layers of cups . 5. When the runners arrive have most of your crew hand the water to the runners. If you let them try to take the cups off the table, they will knock a bunch of them over 6. The proper way to hand a cup to a runner is to put the cup on top of your palm and stretch your arm out as far as possible. Just let the runner take the cup off your palm. 7. Have some of your crew keep filling up cups. They will disappear very quickly when the bulk of the runners arrive. 8. Try to keep the road as clear of used cups as possible. This is a good reason to bring push brooms. They will start to cover the road very quickly. We do not want anyone to slip. 9. Have some of you team take trash bags and pickup any in the grass for about 200 yards past your station. They can go farther if they see cups. 10. A street sweeper will follow the last walkers to clean up the cups. Try to get all the cups into the road away from the curb so that the street sweeper can get to them. 11. A trash truck will also be following the last participants so your crew can help load all the trash into the truck. This includes empty plastic bottles, plastic jugs, cups, and cardboard. 12. Put all the unused supplies back in the storage pod and close the door. 13. Lean all the tables against the storage pod. 14. Once the street sweeper and trash truck has passed you station, you should be finished.

Mission Statement
First Coast Crime Stoppers is one of over 1,000 nonprofit national and international programs enjoying great success in the fight against crime. The mission of the program is to receive information anonymously and pay rewards for tips leading to arrests. Crime Stoppers partners with law enforcement agencies, the media, and the community in solving crimes and getting criminals off the streets.
Description
First Coast Crime Stoppers, Inc., is a civilian volunteer organization formed in 2002 to better serve the citizens of the First Coast in the fight against crime. The Board of Directors is made up of concerned citizens who administer the program and promote community awareness. Crime Stoppers is based on the principle that "someone other than the criminal has information that can solve a crime." It was created to combat three major problems faced by law enforcement: fear of reprisal; an attitude of apathy; and reluctance to get involved. Crime Stoppers resolves these problems by offering anonymity to people who provide information about crimes and by paying rewards when that information leads to an arrest.
