Please visit the new page to apply.
Here volunteers help support our services by: greeting and welcoming people upon arrival, assist clients as they shop in the client choice model, providing quality control on inventory and/or assist with checkout by weighing groceries before clients exit.
Why: Volunteers allow SOVA to meet the increased demands of food insecurity in the community at this time. Your service helps makes more food available for seniors, those experiencing homelessness, and families.
Who: Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles provides a wide range of needed human services to people in the community at every stage of life, especially those who are poor and disadvantaged.
What to Expect:
At SOVA West, volunteer shifts are Monday - Thursday 9:00 AM - 1:30 PM
Volunteers assist with tasks such as: greeting and welcoming people upon arrival, assist clients as they shop in the new client choice model, providing quality control on inventory and/or assist with checkout by weighing groceries before clients exit.
Ideally, we prefer if volunteers select a day they can consistently volunteer for the entire month (or longer!) For example every Tuesday morning for the next month, consistency is most helpful to the staff and program when schedules allow
