2025 Ski Program Volunteer
ORGANIZATION: National Park Service
Please visit the new page to apply.
Ski program volunteers instruct visitors on proper technique, as well as offer safety, nutrition, and hydration advice. These positions will also have the opportunity, if desired, to co-lead a ranger program focusing on either soundscapes or wolves. Finally, there may be the opportunity to co-teach NPS staff on cross-country skiing technique and safety.
This role does require solid knowledge of classic cross-country skiing technique. Instructional experience in any capacity is an added bonus. If the volunteer wishes to co-lead the ranger program, they will be given resources to learn about the history of wolves in New Mexico and the science and art of soundscapes.
Ski tours will take place predominantly on groomed trails but may also involve off-trail skiing.
