ORGANIZATION: Gentiva Hospice

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Our lives are not measured by what we get, but by what we give. Are you a student, retired or just someone looking for a way to give back to your community? Our volunteer coordinators will help you find your superpower, and then match your gifts with opportunities in your area. How you serve is up to you. There is no minimum time commitment; we will work with your schedule!

We at Gentiva Hospice are currently seeking volunteers to visit terminally ill patients all over the Inland Empire. Volunteers can spend time with a patient so their caregiver can get a much needed break to go shopping, do errands or attend appointments. You can engage with patients through any of the following:

  • Provide companionship and emotional support.
  • Provide a listening ear.
  • Encourage them to share life experiences.
  • Play games (cards, board games, etc.)
  • Watch TV with patients.
  • Read to patients.
  • Sing/play an instrument to patients.

No medical experience is needed! Volunteers DO NOT perform any clinical duties.

Hospice volunteers are people with a giving heart and compassion; so if this sounds like you, we'd love to have you as part of our team! Based on your interests and preferences, you will receive specific volunteer orientation and training to help improve the quality of life for others. Come make a difference!
