ORGANIZATION: Literacy Volunteers of Charlottesville / Albemarle

Compassionate and enthusiastic volunteers are needed to tutor adults in the Greater Charlottesville area in English speaking, reading, writing, or basic education. Many also need support in preparing for the U.S. Citizenship Interview.

Literacy Volunteers of Charlottesville/Albemarle is seeking volunteer tutors. Many of our students are refugees and immigrants trying to better their lives in their new community.

No teaching experience is required. Our tutor training and additional support helps prepare you! Most of our tutor/student pairs meet for two hours a week at a mutually convenient time. Both in-person and virtual options available. We do ask for a year-long commitment. As a tutor, you will receive a rewarding experience knowing you've helped someone achieve their goals and improve their lives.

Please note that this is a 2-part virtual training session. The first session will take place on February 11 and the second session will take place on February 18. All tutors must reside in the Greater Charlottesville area.
